Centre for Advice on the Contemporary Italian Language
The Centre for Advice on the Contemporary Italian Language, called in Italian Centro di Consulenza sulla Lingua Italiana Contemporanea (CLIC), was founded at the Accademia della Crusca on 18 January 2001. Academicians, linguists, and experts in various subjects and professional fields are part of it, all encouraged to contribute their expertise in technical and specialist languages. The main goal of the Centre is to stimulate reflection on linguistic phenomena characteristic of contemporary Italian and communicate its most significant findings to the public, through the mass media and its contacts with public institutions. The activities of the Centre are aimed at all those interested in understanding and safeguarding the functional productivity of the Italian language, without any puristic intention.
